Description

Delicate and festive snowflake macarons perfect for winter celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 cup buttercream frosting
  • 1/2 teaspoon blue food coloring
  • sprinkles for decoration


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a bowl, sift powdered sugar and almond flour together.
  4. In another bowl, whip egg whites with cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
  5. Gradually add granulated sugar and continue to whip until stiff peaks form.
  6. Fold in the dry ingredients and extracts gently.
  7. Pipe the batter onto the prepared baking sheet in snowflake shapes.
  8. Let them sit for 30 minutes to form a skin.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
  10. Let cool and fill with buttercream frosting.
  11. Decorate with blue food coloring and sprinkles.
